The Great Rebellion; A History of the United States. Headley, with Numerous Fine Steel Engravings, Complete in Two Volumes, American Publishing Company, 1864 Vol. 2, Mixed volumes, volume one is full leather and volume two is cloth, 9.5 x 6.5, 8vo.

Both volumes have multiple defects. Volume One: Blind stamped leather has moderate wear to with scuffing to corners, edges and spine.

Red rot afflicts the areas of dryness with loss at corners. Spine abraded with rubbing to gilt work. All marbled edges faded, toned.

Scattered foxing to text, heavy at times. A few tissue guards may be missing. Volume Two: Spine damaged significantly and poorly repaired. Appears to have been glued.

Glue afflicted the bottom edge of text block making first one hundred pages have issues opening and closing at bottom edge. Modest soiling to cloth with area of old blooms. Interior toned with scattered foxing.
