Paper is folded and creased and measures 8" x 10". All available space used for writing a lengthy letter to the soldiers mother. Letter written in pencil and pen. Soldier identifies himself with a very small signature located in the bottom left corner of the first page which appears to be R M Dun.. Last name spelling is difficult to decipher. Contents of the letter mostly concern the Soldier's health and the medical treatment he has received. He tells his mother not to worry but gives details on his condition which includes severe diarrhea and rheumatism. The soldier served under David B. Birney who became a Brigadier General later in February.Americana Books has been in business since 1993.
