1870 Holy Bible printed in New York by The American Bible Society. This is a very large quarto in a very nice binding.

It's quite unusual to come across one of these large copies in this good of condition. Original leather binding shows a little wear, but very attractive. Some weakening to the front hinge, especially at the top. But cover is still well attached. Nice gold gilt page edges.

Overall an absolutely beautiful American Bible Society printing. Likely one of the finer Bibles that they ever printed. This one looks like it has extra family history pages as well. Measures just under 14" x 11.25" and around 3.5 thick. The listing photos include the title page (if present) showing printer and year, all sides of the book, representative page samples from beginning to end, family history pages (when present), and any major flaws I notice.

For Bibles containing the Apocrypha, I include a photo of the Apocrypha title page or first page. Family history sections vary in length; I may not be able to photograph every page. I describe major imperfections in the item description, but the photos are the primary description of condition.

If I notice any missing pages they will be listed in the description. But it's not possible to catch every instance of pages missing and such. If the text block is tight and complete, it's generally a good indication that the book is intact, though I cannot guarantee absolute completeness.
