1872 Post Civil War Alabama -- Affairs of Late Insurrectionary States -- 3 Vol. Offered here are the rare three volumes shown, titled according to the spine labels, Affairs of the Late Insurrectionary States -- Alabama.

The thrust of the report is testimony presented to a congressional joint committee involving the violence and intimidation of the Ku Klux Clan after the Civil War. The KKK's activities recounted here were aimed at African Americans and at undermining the north's reconstruction efforts. This testimony led to laws to protect civil rights. I could not find another set of these three volumes for sale on the internet. The books measure 6.25x9.25 and are 2008 pages total.
