A very scarce post-war local regimental and soldier service record volume documenting the Civil War contributions of the town of Claremont, New Hampshire. Unlike broader regimental histories, this work records each soldier individually, with biographical and service notes, along with summaries of the engagements and actions of the New Hampshire regiments in which they served. Social & political background of the community during wartime. These locally printed soldier-roster histories were issued in small numbers and seldom appear today, especially complete.

Binding worn, with losses to head and foot of spine, frayed cloth along joints, and corner wear (see photos). Boards remain attached, though inner hinges are tender. Text block complete, pages show expected age toning and scattered foxing.

Clearly a well-aged survivor - typical for original 1860s New Hampshire local histories, which saw heavy reference use.
