Published in 1860, copies of Stille's Therapeutics and Materia Medica were used in Civil War hospitals. This copy is stamped "USA Hosp Dept" near bottom of spine (photo 11).
Measures approximately 9 1/4" tall, 6" wide, and 2 1/2 thick. Leather binding is worn all around edges and some in centers of front and back boards. Spine retains gold gilding in title and decoration, but has creases and around top and bottom. Split at top spine, bottom has fraying, but not as severe.
Pages have brown spotting from age. Front page has fold at bottom corner. All pages intact, but section has some that are loose (see last two photos).
