The interiors are clean and in excellent condition. There isn't a mark in any of the books.

They have no writing, smudging, stamps, pasteboard, or other markings. There is a touch of foxing (yellowing) to the front map of Volume I as shown.

The dust jackets are in excellent condition and have not chipping or edge wear, but have some light soiling. All books have solid binding with no looseness or lean; all hinges are fine. The books are richly illustrated throughout with maps, photographs and illustrations. Maps are also printed on the end pages.
