The classic saga of Scarlett O'Hara famously adapted into the 1939 Victor Fleming film starring Clark Gable, Vivien Leigh, Leslie Howard, and Olivia de Havilland. The novel won the 1937 Pulitzer Prize and was adapted into an Academy Award-winning 1939 film of the same name. It is the only novel by Mitchell published during her lifetime. It took her seven years to write the book and a further eight months to check the thousands of historical and social references.

A fabulous June 1936, one of 5000 printed, 1037 pages. Rebound in red leather with hubbed spine and gilt stamping rules and title on spine. Marbled end papers with previous owners bookplate on front end paper. GONE WITH THE WIND, by Margaret Mitchell, hardcover edition printing, published by the Macmillan Company in June 1936. The May printing was recalled and the book was officially issued in June 1936.
