For your consideration is in my mind the best civil War Issue of Harper's Monthly magazine. This bound issue features Volume #30 Dec.

This bound book is devoted to the war issues far more than the other Civil war era issues, with pages dedicated to battlefield reports, and also biographical articles. The pictures I have included are only a small sample of what book offers. If you want a great account of the war, written as current news, and not history this is your book.

This issue is in very good shape with binding tight, and all pages clean and intact. The hardcover boards have some stains (see pictures) Leather spine is in good shape for it's age. Despite covering up to May of 1865, it does not actually appear to cover the assassination of Lincoln, with the latest updates being March of 1865. For what it's worth, that would likely displace a lot of the earlier details of the war, making this an exceptionally fine piece to have.
