Pages are readable (see pics). Many engravings of "Great Men" and Battle Scenes. One of the better, early histories. Wrote volume I in 1863 as current events when the war was going on around him.

Wrote second volume in 1866. Even then the books are damaged in some capacity. These Books are over 155 years old. We managed to get the set at a good price because of Volume II detached covers/Tape.
