Red Badge of Courage Stephen Crane 1896 Appleton Early Edition Hardcover
Stephen Crane's Civil War novel in an early 1896 D. The decorated tan cloth retains its red, black and gilt cover design. This is the 1896 title-page issue, with copyrights dated 1894 and 1895. Light soil and age to the cloth, modest corner and spine wear, and lightly toned front matter. A distinctive early copy of an American classic.
