Sabres and Spurs: The First Regiment Rhode Island Cavalry in the Civil War - Frederic Denison - 1876. A rare first edition with interesting provenance. Laid in is the "compliments of" card of J. Addeman, the RI secretary of state and author, whose most notable work described two years serving with black troops in the Civil War.

Fold-out map present, with some rips/wear, as pictured. Gilt sabres crossed on front cover, and gilt lettering at spine. Some light rubbing and wear to cover, and some corner bumping. Internally, some stains and foxing to frontispiece page, otherwise quite clean, with a very occasional spot or two. A few marks also externally at page edges.
