1865 Nurse And Spy In The Union Army S. Emma Edmonds Civil War Illustrated

  

Antique 1865 hardcover with 384 pages. For 159 years old, it's held up pretty well. The gilded gold on the front and back covers is still shiny, though faded in some spots.

Some stains on the front cover, fading on the text on the spine, and wear along the edges of the book exist as well. The pages within are all stained and have spotting, though all pages with text on them appear to be intact and free of any major rips or tears.

Stains do appear to be on every page. The tissue guard is missing between the title page and the image of S.

Emma Edmonds and her horse, see picture 6. The book does have that "159 year old book odor" to it.

Despite the expected wear of such an old book, it's still perfectly readable and of historic significance. It tells the story of Sarah Emma Edmonds who claimed to have served as a man with the Union Army as a nurse and spy during the Civil War. Please see pictures for details and condition.
