It comes in a clear, Mylar dust jacket to help protect it (see photo #2). The book is handsomely bound in blue-colored covers with impressed, decorative highlights on the cover and gold lettering on the spine. The exterior is clean and free of any bumping. It has no discernible edge wear and has very light rubbing. The book has solid binding throughout.
It has no looseness or lean and both hinges are fine. The interior is clean and in fine condition. There is a touch of writing in the book, in pencil, that adds detail to the narrative and information a plus0: it appears to have been added by a member of the unit who knew the soldiers personally to make such comments. There is a gift inscription and a dated stamp (1914) as well as a photograph on the front end page.
I have not evaluated these signature to determine if they were from solider of the unit. The book has no smudging, foxing, stamps, pasteboards or other markings. This is not an ex-library book.
