An original 1866 printing of A Narrative of Andersonville, Drawn from the Evidence Elicited on The Trial of Henry Wirz, the Jailer. 3/4 Morocco Leather binding with marbled paper boards. Rebound, probably in early 1900s. Book has been repaired and conditioned, new EPs and pastedowns, original spine has been relayed. Front illustration and last two pages have repairs to edges.
There is a library embossed stamp of Carnegie Library of Homestead on title page, ink number stamp on dedication page. Text block is solid and pages are clean and bright, free of markings and foxing.
There is an old litho picture of Jesus with a lamb tucked into page 196-197. A nice original copy of this book and a great original piece for Civil War. Collectors and enthusiasts of American history.
