1896 HUGE Harper's CIVIL WAR Pictorial History Illustrated MAPS Battle Scenes. A fine contemporary account of the American Civil War. This work is profusely illustrated with both in-text, full-page, and double-page woodcut engravings. It features war correspondence and was published shortly after the end of the Civil War in two volumes.

This first McDonnell edition was published in 1894 and was based on the original edition complete with all expected illustrations. Illustrations include battles scenes, sea battles, portraits, maps, battle plans and schemes, weapons and firearms, and a large color map of the parts of the United States.
