The book provides accounts from both Union and Confederate Soldiers and leaders. It covers virtually every aspect and theater of the war, but predominately addresses battle and prison accounts. It provides the personal reminiscences of more than 100 Union and Confederate Soldiers and Sailors, including a number of Army of Northern Virginia survivors. THIS BOOK IS IN NEAR FINE CONDITION This original, first edition book is in excellent condition and comes protected in a clear, acid-free, Mylar dust jacket to keep it that way. Mylar jacket shown in photo #2. Published by the renowned Neale Publishing Company, the book is clean and has solidly binding throughout. The exterior is clean with no bumping, rubbing or discernible edge wear. There is some fading to the spine and the blue, lined highlights around the cover, but the book is in fine condition otherwise. The interior is clean and the pages are in excellent condition.

There isn't a mark in the book and the pages are free of any writing, smudging, foxing, smells, underlining, pasteboards, stamps or other markings; it is not an ex-library book. The binding is solid throughout out both hinges are fine. Loaded with first had accounts and observations by the soldiers that fought.
