To document the realization of their enormous effort to fund, design, and emplace on the battlefield monuments and markers interpreting the participation of the state's units in the Siege of Vicksburg. Includes speeches and photos of the dedication ceremonies. History of each regiment engaged, along with illustrations of regimental monuments. Essential for an understanding of the Vicksburg battlefield park, not just the battles and siege.

Rebound in fine black leather with original gilt monument pasted down. Text and plates very good. Handsome and useful for reading and research. I have been a private collector of Civil War and Western Americana books and ephemera for about 30 years. I have recently decided to reduce the size of my library.
