The book contains a frontispiece illustration of Lieutenant-General Bedford Forrest.
The biographies of each Confederate are detailed. It has a complete index of the Confederates included in the book and also has an index of other Confederates incidentally mentioned in the text. Many of these biographical sketches provide portrait illustrations or photographs of the Confederate veteran featured and each biography includes the full Civil War record of service of each, an excellent genealogical reference of Confederate service. THIS BOOK IS IN NEAR FINE CONDITION This original, first edition book is in excellent condition; it comes in a clear, Mylar dust jacket to help protect it (see photo #2). The book is bound in Confederate gray covers with red lettering on the cover and spine.
The exterior is in excellent condition. It has no bumping, rubbing or discernible edge wear.The pages are clean and in excellent condition. The book is a quality, publication printed on quality paper.
